Welcome to our School

Dear Visitor

You are most welcome to the website for St. Patrick’s Primary School, Derrynaseer.

The school is situated at the heart of St. Patrick’s Parish in the village of Aghagallon. It is a Catholic Maintained School. There has been a school here in Aghagallon since 1865. The current school was built around 1966. We celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the official opening on 7th September 2017. (Check out the reflection written by past pupil Fr. Nigel Polland. It is on our front page.)

Our mission is to promote Catholic values, to enable each individual to reach their potential in a secure, caring and respectful environment.

To achieve this, close communication between you, the first educators of your child, and the school is vital. We therefore work very closely with our parents on an individual basis and collectively to seek their views and act upon them in the effective management of the school.

St. Patrick’s is under the direction of a Board of Governors, while the Principal, Mr Kevin O’Hara, has responsibility for the day to day running of the school, assisted by the teachers and support staff.

Accommodation consists of an entrance hall and corridor, six classrooms, a resource room, cloakrooms, storage space and a multipurpose hall with stage.

If you wish to visit the school please contact the office.

Yours faithfully

Kevin J. O’Hara
